MIL-PRF-83287/5C
REQUIREMENTS:
Dimensions and characteristics: See figure 1 and table I.
Weight: 2 grams maximum.
Transfer pulse length: A pulse of 20 milliseconds or greater shall cause a fault indication. A pulse length of 1
millisecond or less shall not cause a fault indication.
Operation: The unit is provided with a set and reset a coil. A 20 millisecond pulse of the proper polarity applied to
the set coil will cause an internal drum magnet to rotate and display a red color. A similar pulse proper polarity
applied to the reset coil will cause the drum to rotate and show black. The drum is magnetically latched and will
remain in the position last pushed. The device is nonvolatile, remaining in the set or reset condition without input
power.
Terminal strength: Test condition A (.5 pound).
Marking of terminal: The positive terminal of the "set" coil shall be identified by a red dot as shown on figure 1.
Vibration:
For 10 Hz to 1 kHz: .06 inch double amplitude or 20 g's peak sine, whichever is less (3 defined axis).
For 10 Hz to 2 kHz: .06 inch double amplitude or 10 g's peak sine, whichever is less (2 defined axis).
Dielectric withstanding voltage: 100 V dc between coils.
Electrical: Minimum pulse power shall be 90 mW.
Life: At 3.5 V dc, 5.0 V dc, and 6.0 V dc for dash numbers 01 and 02. At 9.6 V dc, 12.0 V dc, and 14.5 V dc for
dash numbers 03 and 04.
Mechanical specifications:
Case: Black molded polyester.
Window: Glass.
Display colors: Red (set) and black (reset).
Extent of qualification: Qualification testing and approval of M83287/05-01 shall be sufficient to grant qualification
approval for all indicators covered by this specification sheet.
Part or Identifying Number (PIN): M83287/05- (dash number from table I).
Random vibration: Not applicable.
