MIL-PRF-49192A(CR)
4.4 Conformance inspection. A description of the inspection procedure, sequence of
inspections, number of units to be inspected, and the criteria for determining conformance to the
qualification requirement shall be specified in the contract.
4.4.1 Inspection criteria. The first article inspection shall be performed on five units. The
contractor shall prepare a test plan for both classes of inspection to include as a minimum the tests
listed in TABLES III, IV, & V. Failure of any Group A through Group E test shall be counted as
a major defect and may be cause for rejection of that equipment and could constitute rejection of
the entire sample equipment submitted for first article inspection. The tests and inspections to be
performed shall be identical for both classes of inspection.
4.4.2 Inspection sampling plan. The inspection sampling to be performed during both
classes of inspection shall be in accordance with a contractor generated, Government approved
sampling plan except as indicated below. Seals shall be used to control access to internal
adjustments and circuitry on all reliability models. Breaking of the seals to make adjustments (or
repair) shall be observed as a failure and the elapsed failure-free operational period with unbroken
seals shall be observed to establish the calibration interval.
4.4.2.1 First production lot. The Group C, D, E & F conformance inspections shall be
performed on the first production lot only.
